Principal's Weekly Message

Welcome to this week's edition of the Boerne Middle School North Newsletter!

Greyhound athletics continue to shine. Hounds football took down Medina Valley in three of the four matchups on Tuesday. Cross Country looks to continue to finish in the Top 10 as they head to Voss for the Eagle Invitational tomorrow, Sept. 12th.

We have a ton happening in our classrooms as shown below in our "Week in Pics" section. Our Hounds also enjoyed the first Chick-Fil-A day of the year today. Thank you to our amazing PTO for bringing these days to our campus. It's truly a treat for all.

Football returns to the gridiron on Tuesday as they take on Loma Alta. 8th grade will be home and 7th will be away. Volleyball will look to continue their winning ways as they take on South next Thursday. 7th grade will be home and 8th grade will be at South. Go get 'em ladies! Also, XC will be at the Schreiner Invitational on September 18th. Finally, our BMSN band members will be playing at the BHS game on Friday, September 18th.

No school for students on Friday, September 18th!

Have a great weekend and Go Greyhounds!

With gratitude,
Garrett Carr

New Student Groups

Our counseling team is excited to welcome students who are new to our campus! New students will be invited to participate in three brief group sessions designed to help them feel connected and comfortable in their new school community. Our first two sessions will include fun get-to-know-you activities and an opportunity for students to ask questions and share how their transition is going. We’ll wrap up with our last session—a casual Cookie Social. We look forward to helping our newest students feel at home!

Nurse Kelley's Corner

Concussions can happen anywhere—from sports and PE to falls and everyday accidents. This week, take a moment to review the signs and symptoms of a concussion, remind students to speak up after a head injury, and reinforce that when in doubt, sit them out! Early recognition, appropriate rest, and a safe return to learning and activity can make a big difference in recovery.

📖 Library News! 📚

Esports Info & Application

This week in the library...

  • The library is open each morning starting at 8:00 AM. It closes at 4:15 PM.
  • Sixth grade classes wrapped up their Book Bistro activity this week!  Students had the opportunity to sample six different genres the library offers. Once they completed the activities, many students requested "to-go orders" and selected a book from the table.
  • Seventh grade RLA classes stopped by the library this week to renew, checkout and read! We also reviewed library expectations and programming opportunities.

If you have a student interested in a Creative Writing Club, Chess Club, or Cube it, or Lose It (Rubix Cubes), please have them come by the library to sign up and pick up a permission form.

Please visit with your student about what they are reading in order continue to nurture their love of reading!

  • If you still have BMSN books out, or a BISD elementary library book out, your student will not be able to check out a book. You can return all BISD library book to North.
  • Payments for lost books must be sent to the originating campus. For example, if your student lost a book from FES, you must pay the FES campus for the book.
  • If you need to pay for a lost or damaged BMSN library book, you can pay online here.
