Principal's Weekly Message

Welcome to this week's edition of the Boerne Middle School North Newsletter!

We had a fast and furious week here at North.

Volleyball got a huge win in the Texfest Wimberley tournament over the weekend.

Cross country shined at the Schreiner invite last Friday. Performing art has entered into showcase season as our Jazz band was features at Biesta- Best of Boerne Chamber Gala at Fabra Elementary last evening. We have now completed the first six weeks of school and look forward to finishing the first quarter strong heading into Fall break in two weeks.

We have several events taking place this upcoming week. Take a peek at the upcoming events section and make your plans for cross country finals, football games and volleyball games.

Our Hounds had a bye week and look forward to taking the field against South next Tuesday, September 29th. 8th grade will be Home and 7th grade will be at South.

Volleyball

Volleyball Goes 3-0 at Texfest

All volleyball teams traveled to Wimberley last weekend for the Texfest Volleyball Tournament. Our 8th grade A team came home as champions as they went undefeated. They took down Navarro, Dripping Springs, and Wimberley on the day. 7th grade A, 7th grade B, and 8th grade B team all brough home 3rd place on the day. It was a great day for our Hounds!

Boys' Soccer Tryouts

Boys soccer tryout dates will be Thursday Oct. 21, Friday Oct. 22 and Monday Oct. 26 from 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM.

Cross Country

XC Shines at Schreiner Invite

It was a great day for North XC at the Schreiner Invite in Kerrville! Bo Schanno took 6th overall with Oliver Graham, Hunter Young, William Pergason, Joby Alvarez and Gabe Benavidez rounding out the Top 25 out of 150 runners. Our boys combined for 1st place overall on the day. The Lady Hounds were led by Alexa Rawlings who took 1st overall, with Lauralyn Moerhig and Audrina Dubose rounding out the Top 16. Way to go Hounds! Our runners are back in action this weekend at the Southwest District Finals at South MS.

📖 Library News! 📚

This week in the library...

The library is open each morning starting at 8:00 AM. It closes at 4:15 PM.

Sixth grade Student Leadership class visits continued on Monday this week and learned about two additional research databases available to them through TexQuest. Students will use these databases as they begin researching for their speeches on notable public figures who demonstrate growth mindset.
Seventh grade RLA classes participated in the library's Book Bistro and sampled six different genres using books of their choice. Many students then checked out books from genres that they wouldn't normally try.
Eighth grade CCR classes visited the library to learn about the P-TECH Cyber Security program. Mr. Hiett and students from his program came in and led the students through interactive activities involving cyber security basics while explaining the ins and outs of the program.

If you or your student are having technology challenges, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Griffin for help! Students can stop by the library at any time throughout the day, and parents can email Mrs. Griffin: erin.griffin@boerneisd.net.

Please visit with your student about what they are reading in order continue to nurture their love of reading!

If you still have BMSN books out, or a BISD elementary library book out, your student will not be able to check out a book. You can return all BISD library book to North.
Payments for lost books must be sent to the originating campus. For example, if your student lost a book from FES, you must pay the FES campus for the book.
If you need to pay for a lost or damaged BMSN library book, you can pay online here.
